Ketogenic Diets and Weight Loss
today I want to talk about Ketogenic Diets. You may have seen my other video when we talk about low starch diets. That’s a kind of stage one of low carbs diets.
In this video I want to talk about Ketogenic Diets, by definition a Ketogenic Diet is a diet that contains less then 50 grams of carbohydrates a day, or less then 10% of calories from carbohydrates.
This is really really low like your just going to be eating a small amount of green leafy vegetables. You’re actually got to be careful about the carbohydrates you can get in things like nuts and seeds. So you need to account for those as well, you don’t want to go crazy eating lots of nuts.
You want to focus on getting a lot of meats, “Right” that’s going to give you proteins and fats so you can bump your calories. You want to get also a bunch of your fats from oils and then some green leafy vegetables, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and spinach things like that. Just in small amounts, just a small serving in each meal so you can stay under those 50 grams of carbohydrates a day.
Cause you’ll be surprised how fast you can eat 50 grams of carbs. That’s what a Ketogenic Diet is. They work really well, especially if you use something called a Systolic Ketogenic Diet. Which will talk about another day? I just want you to know because there are a lot of misconceptions out there. People talking about what is a low crab diet? What is a Ketogenic Diet?
And to be honest there giving you the wrong information, I just wanted you to know what a Ketogenic Diet really is. It’s less than 10% of your calories from carbohydrates, or less then 50 grams of carbs a day.
That’s a very low carbohydrate diet compared to what we talked about previously in a video of low starch diet. Which is also a variation of a low carb diet, but it has about twice as many carbs.
