There are two main questions that I receive in regards to the safety of weight loss.

1. “How can I got about losing fat safely?”

Many questions that I receive about safe fat loss have to do with avoiding the nutrition dangers associated with dieting. These vitamin, mineral, and fatty acid deficiencies can be easily avoided if you following a handful of nutritional fundamentals that I can the 6 Pillars of Nutrition. 1. Eat five to six times a day.
2. Limit your consumption of sugars and processed foods.
3. Eat fruits and vegetables throughout the day.
4. Drink more water and cut out calorie-containing beverages (beer, soda, etc.).
5. Focus on consuming lean proteins throughout the day.
6. Save starch containing foods until after a workout or for breakfast.

2. “How fast can safely lose fat?”

Now let’s look at #2.  Commonly ‘experts’ will tell you that you can safely lose 1-2 pounds of body fat per week. However, if you look at the show “The Biggest Loser”, those people lose way more than two pounds a week. You can lose more than two pounds of fat a week too. If you’re combining proper diet and exercise, and you’re really going at it; you’re focused, you’re sticking on your diet, you’re training really hard, there’s no reason why you can’t lose more than two pounds a week.

The question that people should really be asking is – ‘”What would be safer? Keeping the extra body fat or losing the weight quickly?” When you pose the question that way it seems almost silly – lose the weight!

Plus, the faster you lose the weight the faster you can stop dieting. Don’t let what they say limit what you think you can achieve. If you really set your mind to it, and you pick a great program and a great diet, you can safely and effectively lose more than just two pounds a week.
